Come with me to Kenya National Reserve...

...where your roommate asks the tour guide if she can get a picture of her roommate holding his gun! CharMYN!

...and you feel hunted by the scary cape buffalo whose cousin you saw take revenge on those lions on YouTube!

...and the giraffes are so close you can practically smell them!

...and you learn all sorts of fun things about poop!

...like what giraffe droppings look like!

...and you get to meet Pumbaa's family!

...and the offspring of the stampeding wildebeests!

And after a whole day of living in the wild, you start understanding their language. "What you talkin' bout, Willis?"

"ZEBRA QUESTION"
by Shel Silverstein

I asked the Zebra,
Are you black with white stripes?
Or white with black stripes?
And the zebra asked me,
Are you good with bad habits?
Or are you bad with good habits?
Are you noisy with quiet times?
Or are you quiet with noisy times?
Are you happy with some sad days?
Or are you sad with some happy day?
Are you neat with some sloppy ways?
Or are you sloppy with some neat ways?
And on and on and on and on
And on and on he went.
I'll never ask a zebra
About stripes
Again.

One year and speechless...

It's hard to think of what to say here with this anonymous audience. I hope you'll feel free to email me whenever you are curious about something or just want to say hi. In the meantime, enjoy the photos and please keep praying for all of us in Kalacha!

This first year away from home has flown by, quicker than this crazy Kalacha wind!

The Catholic Church here has amazing murals.

Look! We have hair! Every time I leave Kalacha and take my head scarf off, I feel like a new person!
