(This one's for you, Dad!)
I spent my birthday with my Kalacha family and felt right at home watching the sunset over mountains in Africa. *sigh*

My birthday sunset in the Chalbi Desert. *sigh*
The following day...

Getting FIREWOOD with friends. (Robe w/panga) The whole process took about 4 hours.

My first FIREWOOD adventure! It's so BEAUTIFUL in Kalacha!

Look carefully--Dub is up in a tree cutting down branches for us to gather!

Dub came out of the tree to help me carry some sticks!

I'm trying to smooth down the branches b/c they are loaded with 2-inch long thorns. EEK!

Load her up!

I'm 28 and feeling like a SUPERWOMAN!!

Robe, Charmyn, and me. Being Gabra is fun!

Mungu ana kapenda! We're jealous (in a happy spiritual way) of your life in Africa. We've been to Machakos. We've always felt, like we're sure you will after this, that if things ever get just too weird in the US, we have a place we can go to get away from the maddening crowd! Down near the Tanzanian border we (the ministry) have 30 acres now that we'll be building a community center/bible college and also small houses for teachers and travelers to stay in. It will be a nice get away, and at the same time, be able to minister there and down into Tanzania.
Thanks for the reminder of how beautiful the land and people are there! Love them in the Lord.
From our hearts to yours,
Jeff and Joani Grossnickle
